The ceremony to honor and present awards to athletes representing the Ayeyarwady Region who won medals in international competitions and region/state sports competitions was held this morning at the Ayeyar Shwe War Hall in Pathein. Ayeyarwady Region Chief Minister U Aye Kyaw, together with responsible officials, attended the event and presented the awards.
First, the Chief Minister, his wife, and responsible officials welcomed the athletes representing the Ayeyarwady Region, who won medals in international competitions and the 2026 Region and State Sports Competitions with congratulatory flower garlands. Afterward, they watched a video presentation documenting the athletes' competitive performances.
Next, the Chief Minister delivered a congratulatory speech. Following this, officials handed over the Women’s Championship Trophy, won from the 2026 Region and State Athletics Competition, to the Chief Minister.
Then, the Chief Minister, his wife, and responsible officials presented cash awards and certificates of honor to the athletes who won gold, silver, and bronze medals in international competitions and the 2026 Region and State Sports Competitions, as well as to the managers and coaches of respective sports disciplines.
Subsequently, the manager of the athletics team that won the Women's Championship Trophy at the 2026 Region and State Athletics Competition delivered words of thanks. A celebratory lunch was then hosted in honor of the athletes.
Afterward, at a ceremony held in Meeting Hall (1) of the Region Government Office, International First Grade Co., Ltd. donated items valued at approximately 202.773 million kyats and 30 million kyats in cash for flood-affected area rehabilitation. The Minister for Planning, Economy and Finance, the Minister for Social Affairs, and the Secretary of the Region Government accepted the donations, presented a certificate of honor in return, and the Chief Minister delivered a speech of gratitude.
