Incoming UK PM Burnham arrives at Buckingham Palace to meet king

On Monday, Andy Burnham officially became the 59th Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Following the formal resignation of outgoing Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Burnham traveled to Buckingham Palace to meet with King Charles III.

During the audience, Burnham underwent the traditional "kissing of hands" ceremony, where the King officially invited the new Labour leader to form a government. Keir Starmer delivered a final farewell address outside 10 Downing Street, before heading to the Palace to tender his formal resignation to the King.
