Immigration &Citizenship Verification: Work Committee holds meeting 1/2023in Nay Pyi Taw

The Immigration and Citizenship Verification Work Committee held its meeting 1/2023 on Friday at the Ministry of Immigration and Population in Nay Pyi Taw.

In the meeting, Chairman of the Committee Union Minister U Myint Kyaing highlighted agreement between Myanmar and Bangladesh for repatriation of displaced persons from Rakhine State after fleeing to Bangladesh due to the incidents in Rakhine State in 2017.

This meeting focused on visual verification of those who will be accepted under the Pilot Project at the place proposed by the Bangladesh side. The findings will be presented to the Central Committee on Rakhine State's Peace, Stability and Development, and the repatriation process will continue only after the approval of the Central Committee. Taungpyoletwe and Ngakhuya reception centers are in readiness for the process.
