Immigration and Population: Central Committee meeting held for Ground Census Enumeration

The Central Committee on Supervising Ground Census Enumeration held its coordination meeting 2/2023 in Nay Pyi Taw on 8th March.

The Chairman of the Central Committee Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing delivered a speech at the meeting. He said over 11.8 million households have been collected based on e-ID software data while more than 2.8 million households have collected without the existing household lists, totally (14.6) million have been collected, accounting for 86.73% completion during 9th January to 26 February.

In addition, the list of 200,000 disabilities population data was handed over to the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement. The collected data have been verified and confirmed with the household lists, Naing -4 documents and other certificates to amend, add and give remark into the e-ID Server. He urged all the responsible persons to supervise the tasks for timely completion.

Similarly, the Ministry carried out Pan Khin Project for every citizen to bear a suitable card in line with the qualification to be a citizen, and every eligible citizen to be able to vote in the elections to be held in the future. He added that it is needed to issue the relevant identity card to those 16 years and above under the Pan Khin project at the relevant Township Immigration Offices. 

Afterwards, the central Committee members Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, Chief Ministers of States and Region and Committee Representatives reported on collection of census data at the remaining areas and plans to continue the data collecting and data entry process for the e-ID Software.

The Deputy Ministers and officials also explained and discussed the plans that will be carried out among the departments through cooperation and coordination for the timely completion of the works. In response to the reports, the Union Minister gave necessary instructions.
