Illegal trade: Timbers, jade, consumer goods, vehicles confiscated

On 1st March, the five kinds of things including eight suspected jade bracelets from luggage were captured at the Yangon International Airport.

On 2nd March, 25 cartons of Lactasoy (300 millimetres) and 100 cartons of Wai Wai instant vermicelli bag on Yangon-Myawady Pyidaungsu highway road and 150 cartons of Lactasoy and 200 cartons of Lipvitan-D at the Mayanchaung permanent checkpoint in Mon State, an unregistered Toyota Succeed auto on Thudama road in North Oakkalapa township, an unregistered Toyota Crown auto in Hlainthaya township and an unregistered Honda Airwave auto in Thanlyin Township, 2000 kilogrammes of Mask at the 16th-Mile Kyaukchaw checkpoint, duty-free batteries and lubricants about two miles from Sikekhauk checkpoint between Sikekhauk village and Kaungmuton village were seized.

On 3 March, an unregistered Canda 125 motorbike in Khamti Township, a total of 22.79 tonnes of illegal teaks and hardwoods in Pyu and Minhla Townships were confiscated.

Therefore, 18 arrests (estimated value of 187.210 million Kyats) were made on three consecutive days from 1 March to 3 March, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
