Illegal Trade: Timbers And Vehicles Worth Over 42 Million Kyats Seized

The Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee seized illegal timbers and vehicles worth more than 42 million Kyats in Yangon Region, Rakhine State, and Bago Region, on the 4th, 5th, 6thand 8th of March.

From the 4thto 6th of March, combined inspection teams led by the Yangon Region Department of Forest conducted inspections in Hlegu Township and North Okkalapa Township and confiscated three vehicles carrying illegal timbersand action is taken under the Forest Law.

On the 5thand 6th of March, over 9 tonnes of illegal timbers were seized under the Forest Law in An Township and Taungup Township in Rakhine State. On the 8th of March, over 1 ton of illegal teak was seized from the forest reserve in Thayawaddy District of Bago Region.
