Illegal Trade: Illegal goods worth over 725 million Kyats seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 26th, 27th and 28th of February, illegal goods including used mobile phones, phone accessories, beads, construction materials, toilet accessories, walkie-talkie, travelling suit cases, PVC flooring, rice cookers, electrical products, sports equipment, foodstuffs, bicycle spareparts and stand fans worth over 725 million Kyats were confiscated at the Sinphyu Checkpoint, at the Yangon International Airport and ports, at the Mayanchaung Permanent Checkpoint, at the 16-mile Kyaukchaw Checkpoint and at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) Combined Checkpoint.

Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
