Illegal trade: Foodstuff, consumer goods, electronics, vehicles seized

An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.

On 5th March, four kinds of goods including Controller and medicines at Yangon International Airport, 50 boxes of instant vermicelli and Nissan-Diesel motor vehicle and 1050 Kilograms of Picnic Cooler and a Mitsubishi Fuso motor vehicle at Mayanchaung permanent checkpoint in Mon State, motor cycle spare parts, foodstuff and consumer goods and two motor vehicles at 16 miles Kyaukchaw checkpoint in Mandalay, two motor vehicles of Toyota Surf and Mazda Tribute without license at the entrance checkpoint of Magway Township, over 34 tones of illegal timbers in Pakhokku and Salin Townships, Toyota Wish vehicle without license in Insein Township and Toyota Succeed vehicle without license in Mingalar Taung Nyunt Township of Yangon Region, totaling 16 kinds of goods including industrial machenary, auto parts, electric fans, cosmestics and a Volvo (Tractor Head) and a trailer heading ot Yangon from Myawady Towship, On 6th March, 1.63 tones of illegal timbers in Phyu and OakTwin Townships of Taunggo District were confiscated.

Therefore, 29 arrests (approximately 385.895 million kyats) were made on 5th and 6th of March, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
