Hundreds of LGBT couples marry in Mexico City

Hundreds of same-sex couples got married in a mass wedding ceremony in Mexico City on Friday, kicking off LGBT Pride celebrations.

While most states across Mexico now recognize same-sex marriages, holding a wedding can be difficult. In 2010 Mexico City became the first place in Mexico to create marriage equality laws.

Since then, 26 other states have recognized marriage equality in some way, but rights are still uneven across the country.
