

The National Skills Standards Authority (NSSA) presented skilled certificates to more than 400 skilled workers from Yangon and Mandalay Regions, as well as Mon State, during a ceremony held on Friday. The NSSA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, plays a pivotal role in nurturing skilled workers for human resource development.
From 2014 to January of this year, a total of over 27,000 individuals participated in exams covering 40 different types of jobs. More than 25,000 workers have been officially recognized for their skills.
In the 2022-2023 fiscal year, over 5,700 workers were processed for skill development in 28 job types, surpassing the set target.
In 2023-2024 fiscal year, the NSSA aims to process 3,500 workers for skill development across 29 job types. During this period, over 2,700 individuals sat for exams, with more than 2,500 successfully passing the rigorous assessment process.
The projections for the 2024-2025 fiscal year indicate plans to screen 5,000 people for skill development in an expanded array of 48 job types.
In addition to certification programs, the NSSA has outlined plans for vocational and capacity-building training during the next fiscal year to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) development.
The NSSA's continuous efforts underscore its commitment to enhancing the skills of the workforce and contributing to the overall economic development of the regions involved.
