Htamane Making Competition: Dy PM MOHA Union Minister encouraged competitors

The fifth edition of traditional Htamane making competition of the Ministry of Home Affairs was held at the Ministry in the evening on Friday with the attendance of Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt. Gen. Soe Htut and wife, Deputy Minister MaJ Gen. Toe Yi and wife, Chief of Myanmar Police Force Ma-J Gen. Zin Min Htet and wife and senior officials and their wives and staff families and the contestant teams.

First, Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Home Affairs gave a remark saying that the Htamane making festival is a significant traditional festival which demands the united collective effort among the traditional festivals.

This competition is held with the aims at preserving the traditional festival, better unity, solidarity, fraternity and spirit of teamwork among the personnel. A total of 6 teams from the Union Minister Office, Myanmar Police Force, General Administration Department, Bureau of Special Investigation, Prison Department and Fire Service Department under the Ministry of Home Affairs participated in the Htamane making competition.

The Union Minister and wife and party viewed and encouraged the contestant teams in their competition, the contestant teams competed in heated competition and the personnel also supported and cheered happily by playing Myanmar traditional short drums.

Prior to the Htamane making competition, the contest of playing Myanmar traditional short drums with five contestant teams from the forces and departments and then the responsible officials awarded the prizes to the winners of Htamane making and playing traditional short drums, it’s learnt.
