Hotels and Tourism Industry: Union Minister conducts field trips in Shan State

The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism is implementing toursim development and promot programs according to respective destinations in cooperation with relevant regions and states, organizations and private entrepreneurs for more arrivals of local and foreign visitors.

On 7th March, Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Aung Thaw met hoteliers and officials in Nyaung Shwe at Shwe Nandaw hotel (Inle). At the meeting, the Director of the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism (Taunggyi Office branch) reported on condition of destinations in Nyaung Shwe, arrival of local and foreign visitors and development of tourism industry in Inle region.

On the occasion, Union Minister U Aung Thaw said that the Inle region has good natural resources and the customs and traditions of the locals in the region attract domestic and foreign tourists. In order to visit Inle region by more local and foreign tourists, all associations and business operators must participate. The Ministry will support for the interests of the state, the region, businessmen and the people.

Later, the Union Minister presented the national Health and Safety Protocol Certificates to 9 hotels and coordinated essentials.  The Union Minister viewed around beautifying and sanitation tasks of Inle lake to be able to visit the visitors with peace of mind and looked into information center in Nyaung Shwe opened by the Ministry to provide the destination facts to the visitors.

On the 8th, the Union Minister held meeting with hoteliers and officials from the departments and the Hotels and Tourism Associations in Kalaw at the Kalaw Heritage Hotel.

At the meeting, the Union Minister said that it needs the investments of the businessmen to operate regularly the hotel and tourism industries in Kalaw region and sustainable development. Departmental officials and officials reported on their sector-wise implementations.

After that, the Union Minister presented certificates to 3 hotels which were presented the national Health and Safety Protocol Certification and coordinated essentials on the reports of officials.
