Hluttaw Meeting: Shan State Hluttaw holds third regular session

The first day of the Third Regular Session of the Third Shan State Hluttaw was held in Taunggyi on Thursday, with 127 of 132 Hluttaw Representatives in attendance.

During the opening session, Mong Pan Constituency (2) representative U Tun Myint Oo took his oath of office and signed the oath document. Hluttaw Representatives raised 12 questions on local issues, which were answered by relevant state-level officials.

The Hluttaw also recorded the President’s State of the Union Address. The Shan State Government submitted a bill to amend the Shan State Loading and Unloading Business Law, along with supplementary budget estimates for the 2026–2027 financial year. The Hluttaw also agreed to discuss a proposal urging the Shan State Government to simplify and speed up procedures for obtaining permission to use agricultural land for other purposes, including reducing unnecessary departmental recommendations.
