
Hong Kong authorities are asking the territory's whole population, nearly 7.5 million people, to do voluntary COVID-19 self-tests at home for three days, running from the 8th-10th of April.
The announcement came from local leader Carrie Lam Saturday, at her regular press conference.The southern Chinese territory is recovering from its fifth wave of COVID-19, and on 1 April lifted a ban on direct travel from nine countries for Hong Kong residents.It still remains mostly isolated from free international travel because of quarantine and testing requirements, and a strict measure that stops an airline flying in if COVID-19 cases are recorded on its planes.
