



Myanmar History Association under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture completed the draft proposal on Myanmar successive history concerning with stone, bronze and iron ages as well as primate and pyu periods.
Aiming to be able to write complete history based on the facts of archaeological excavations, latest scientific calculations and the discovery of local and foreign specialists, historical seminar on Pyu Era is being held at the National Museum (Yangon) on 27th and 28th June.
Researchers and primate specialists from Geological Departments of the Universities, retired primate specialists, experienced officials from the Department of Archaeology and National Museum, staffs, the experts from Myanmar History Association and enthusiasts participated in the 1st day event.
On the occasion, the Director General Dr. Kyaw Oo Lwin from the Department of Archaeology and National Museum discussed about the formation of stone age, bronze age, and iron age starting from primate period according to the historical developments.
Officials, historians and primate specialists explained about the oldest primate fossils which are discovered in Pondaung area, eight types of primates and 2 other kind of low class primates found in Myanmar, humanoid primate fossils discovered in Ayeyawady rock layers, the evidences of primate fossils and research works, findings from lab tests and calculating the life span.
