Heritage Conservation: Blue plaques installed at two historic buildings in Kalaw

Ceremonies to install blue plaques at the historic Kalaw Post Office (Old) and Kalaw Swimming Pool and Rest Camp (Kalaw Club) was held on Thursday.

Union Minister for Hotels, Tourism and Culture U Maung Myint attended the ceremonies, and ceremonially opened the blue plaques. The Ministry of Hotels, Tourism and Culture is preserving 6,105 historic buildings of 100 years and above. Among 23 historic buildings in Shan State, 9 buildings received blue plaques. The historic Kalaw Post Office (Old) and Kalaw Swimming Pool and Rest Camp (Kalaw Club) were identified as the historic buildings on July 7th 2025.
