Heavy snowfall blankets mountainous regions of Morocco

Heavy snowfall had blanketed parts of Ifrane and other mountainous regions of Morocco, causing hazardous road conditions. Authorities had issued warnings to drivers, urging caution and recommending the use of winter tires and chains where necessary.

They also announced the temporary closures of schools and some public offices in the region. The snowfall comes as part of a cold front affecting the Atlas Mountains, with temperatures expected to drop further over the weekend.
