Heatwave boosts conditioner demand across Europe

Record-breaking June temperatures have sent air conditioning (AC) sales soaring across Europe. With only about 20% of European households equipped with AC, and installation costs often exceeding 1,000 euro, consumers are snapping up portable split systems and fans to quickly beat the heat.

Appliance giants including Samsung and LG are running production lines at full capacity, while Midea’s PortaSplit units sold out entirely, driving up second-hand market prices. E-commerce data revealed massive jumps in cooling product orders, with fan and portable AC sales surging exponentially in countries like France, Germany, and Spain.
