





In order to honour the nurses and midwives, and to enhance their professionalism in providing health care services, Nursing Training Schools were upgraded to the Institute level.
A new signboard opening ceremony of the Institute of Nursing (Yangon) took place at the meeting hall of the institute in Latha Township on Thursday.
Vice-Principal, Ni Ni Win, Institute of Nursing (Yangon) said " The main task of this institute is to turn out skillful nurses and midwives for the public in urban and rural areas. We upgrade the curriculums to meet international standards along with the upgrading of teaching system with advance technique and machines. For capacity building of the trainers, the institute arranges trainings and workshops for them."
Those who passed matriculation examination can enroll the Institutes of Nursing and Nursing Training Schools for this academic year.
3rd Year Student, May Thu Naing, Institute of Nursing (Yangon) said "I’m attending at the Institute of Nursing (Yangon) under pedagogy program. I’m interested in pathology and anatomy. So, I joined this institute to be able to provide patient-centered health care services to those who in need. I believe that I will be a good nurse who cares the patients with sympathy and empathy in the future."
In Myanmar there are two Universities of Nursing, 15 Institutes of Nursing including Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, 15 Nursing Training Schools and 11 Nursing and Midwifery Training School.
