





The Out-patient Department of Yangon General Hospital has conducted health care service starting 1st February through online booking system.
Moreover, the ICUs of out-patient ward that have been closed temporarily, have been resumed its operation on regular day in a scheduled basis starting 28th February.
Most of the patients coming to the out-patient ward are from rural areas and to keep social distancing, online booking system has been practiced. If the process is smooth, the hospital intends to apply this system for all intensive care units of the hospital.
The patients can book for medical treatment through viber or messenger of Yangon General hospital online page or caremebot app. If the patients make booking, they need to send the photos of a referral letter or the medical record showing at the YGH, an official said.
Patient said "I am a staff from Kyimyindaing railway station. Three small stones were found in my stomach. So, I was hospitalized for about one month. I have already received medical test once time after discharging. This time, I made appointment for medical test via online booking. We are convenient for receiving treatment."
Patient said "I am suffered from cardiovascular disease. We have no cost for ECG test, X-ray examining and some blood tests at the hospital. We have not pay for medical test. We’d like to express thanks to the hospital for the service."
The intensive care unit was temporarily closed during COVID-19 as some physicians, professors, doctors and nurses have been infected with the disease. So, some units such cardiac, arthritis and cancer treatment wards of out-patient unit have been closed temporarily.
These wards have been resumed as a regular schedule starting from 28th February. The out-patient department is opened only on the office day starting from 8 a.m. but the intensive care unit is operated for 24 hours.
