




Chairman of the Central Committee on Supervising Ground Census Enumeration Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing held meeting with Chairman of Rakhine State Ground Census Enumeration Supervisory Committee the State Chief Minister U Htein Linn and committee members at the State Government Guest House in Sittway on Monday.
At the meeting, the joint secretary of Rakhine State Ground Census Enumeration Supervisory Committee reported on progress of door-to-door census collection in Rakhine State, completion and future plans and plans to fill the collect data with e-ID Software.
The Chief Minister called on arrangement for achieving ground census enumeration in Rakhine State and plans to collect fully in the remaining areas. Then, the Union Minister said that the most important work program of the 5-point Road Map of the Government is holding a free and fair general election.
It needs to compile a correct voter list to hold the election. The nationwide population census was collected from door-to-door for 20 days without office holidays from 9th to 31st January. To carry out this task, out of the households that is targeted to collect in the entire nation with e-ID Software, 86.7 percent could be collected. In Rakhine State, 99.25 percent of the households were completed.
Those who do not have currently the household lists in Rakhine state were surveyed through blank forms and over 0.14 million households were surveyed. The amendment, adding and verification of the facts are carried out by connecting with e-ID Software and measures are being undertaken for collecting the remaining households that is left to collect due to various reasons.
Only then the correct population data is obtained, the accurate voter lists will be collected and a free and fair general election for the future of the nation can be held, the Union Minister said. Later, Committee members discussed plans to cooperate by respective departments for the success of the whole work processes and the needs on which the Union Minister fulfilled the requirements.
