Greening Of Mandalay: 170,000 Saplings To Be Distributed In The District

170,000 saplings are being nurtured at the Forest Departments in the townships of Mandalay District and they will be distributed free of charge.

According to the official of Mandalay District Forest Department, 45,000 saplings are nurtured in Maha Aung Myay township Forest Department, 30,000 saplings in Aye Myay Thazan Forest Department and 95,000 Pathein Gyi Township Forest Department and the program aims to green the environs of Mandalay district.

Assistant Director, Mandalay District Forest Department, Thaung Oo said “The program aims for greening the environs of Mandalay, raising awareness on the importance of plants for the people and to practice nurturing of plants. In the district, 21 species of plants including shady and beautifying trees will be distributed in the district.”

24,000 will be distributed to the departments and schools, 53,000 to regiments and units and over 90,000 to the wards and villages in the district with free of charge. Now, 30,000 saplings have already distributed in the district.
