Greening Environs: Myawady Township Forest Department Nurtures 380,000 Saplings

To conserve natural environment and prevent the climate change, the Forest Department in Myawady nurtured 380,000 saplings.

These saplings are nurtured in nursery farms of the forest department in Myawady Township.

Staff Officer, Myawady Township Forest Department, Kyaw Myo Thu said “We have nurtured 38,000 saplings in the rainy season of 2019-2020 fiscal year. Among them, 25,000 saplings will be distributed free to people who want to grow as well as regiments and units, departments, schools and monasteries.”

The saplings will be planted in the community forest plantations and for maintaining of Thaung Yin river bank. The forest department in Myawady carried out 16,141 acres of community forests for 2018-2019 fiscal year and continued to undertake 2000 acres for 2019-2020 fiscal year.

Only 210,000 saplings were planted in the previous year and now this year, 380,000 could be nurtured.
