Global Digital Forum: Myanmar delegation attends the forum in Russia

Deputy Minister for Transport and Communications U Lu Mon attended the first Global Digital Forum, held on June 5 to 6, with the theme: “Building an international digital communication corridor based on respect, trust, and equal opportunities for all countries”, at Nizhny Novgorod, Russian Federation.

Deputy Prime Minister of Russian Federation, Mr. Dmitry Yuryevich Grigorenko, Governor of Nizhny Oblast Mr Gleb Nikitin and responsible officials, high-level representatives from over 100 countries and more than 1,000 experts attended the opening ceremony of global digital forum.

During the forum, Deputy Minister U Lu Mon met with Ms. Bella Cherkesova Russian Deputy Minister for Digital Development, Communications and Media. They discussed matters to accelerate commerce and trade through digital technology, readiness for reducing regional knowledge gaps, its opportunities and challenges as well as bilateral collaboration.

They then attended the Ministerial Level Meeting organized by the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mr Sergey Vershinin. During the forum, the MOUs and agreements on cooperation in digital technologies were signed between Russia and non-governmental organizations from participating countries.
