Global COVID-19 cases exceed 1.21 million

A total of 67,841 people had died of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) globally as the number of infections surged to 1.21 million on Tuesday, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) dashboard.

The number of confirmed cases outside China exceeded 1.13 million, the data shows. According to the WHO, the United States has reported 307,318 cases with 8,358 deaths. Spain has recorded 130,759 confirmed cases, second to the U.S. worldwide.

The pandemic has now resulted in a total of 15,889 deaths in Italy, with a total of 128,948 confirmed cases. Germany has now 95,391 cases, and the number of deaths has increased to 1,434.
