Funeral Ritual: SAC Chairman Attended Funeral Ritual Of Late Senior Monk

The funeral rite of late presiding Sayadaw of Mahawithutarama Zaygone  Pariyatti Sarthintaik, Pyinmana Township, State Awwadasariya, Abhidhajamaharathaguru, Dr. Baddanta Kawithara  was held at Mahawithutarama  Zaygone  Pariyatti Sarthintaik  in the afternoon on Monday.

Present at the occasion were the secretary of State Sangha Mahanayaka Committee, Thanlyin Min Kyaung Dr. Baddanta Sandimabiwuntha, chanceller of Thitagu World Buddha Universities, Abhidhajamaharathaguru, Dr. Baddanta Nyanitthara, chairman of state administration council, commander in chief of defense services senior general Min Aung Hlaing, vice chairman of state administration council, deputy commander in chief of defense services, vice senior general Soe Win, council members, secretary and joint-secretary of the council, union ministers, chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, commander of Nay Pyi Taw command and disciples.

First, the congregation observed the five precepts administered by the secretary of State Sangha Mahanayaka Committee, Thanlyin Min Kyaung Sayadaw  and the chairman of state administration council, commander in chief of defense services senior general Min Aung Hlaing, vice chairman of state administration council, deputy commander in chief of defense services, vice senior general Soe Win and union minister for religious affairs and culture U Ko Ko honored the late venerable Sayadawgyi by covering ceremonial velvet on the remain of the Sayadawgyi.

Then, the joint-secretary of State Sangha Mahanayaka Committee, Moe Goke  Township Nyaung Thon Bin Sayadaw,  Mandalay, Moe Goke Yeiktha Shweduwun Sayadaw  and union minister for religious affairs and culture read the condolence message conveyed by the State Sangha Mahanayaka Committee, Nay Pyi Taw division Sangha Nayaka committee and Pakhokku Mahawithutarama  monastery and ministry of religious affairs and culture.

Next, the SAC chairman and vice chairman and congregation offered the offertories to the Sangha, listened to the sermon given by the Thitagu World Buddha Universities, Dr. Baddanta Nyanitthara () and shared merits gained.

After giving religious ritual songs by the cultural group from the department of fine arts, ministry of religious affairs and culture, the disciples of late venerable Sayadawgyi sought the forgiving from the Sayadawgyi and paid final obeisance. Then, the remained of late venerable Sayadawgyi conveyed on the Karaweik  ceremonial vehicle to the ground of Uppatasanti  pagoda to hold final cremation ceremony in line with the religious ritual procedures.

Afterward, the remained of late venerable Sayadawgyi was carried to the funeral pyre at the arrangements of religious rituals. Then, the SAC chairman and vice chairman and congregation paid final homage. After reciting meditational dhamma verses, the remained of the late venerable Sayadawgyi was cremated, it’s learnt.  

The ritual of floating the ashes from the cremation of the remained of late venerable Sayadawgyi will be held at Kyi Taung  Village near Paung Laung River on 15th June, it’s learnt.
