Full Moon Day of Tabaung is a significant day for Myanmar Buddhist people. On this day, people visited pagodas and temples to perform good deeds. In Yangon, Shwedagon Pagoda and other prominent pagodas were crowded with devotees making merit and offering alms.
The Shwedagon Pagoda trustees organized ceremonial offerings, including the 2,614th Buddha Day celebration, with monks, religious groups, and donors participating. Devotees offered flowers, oil lamps, and other donations, while chanting and performing rituals.
Similarly, in Mandalay, pagodas were filled with people from local and surrounding areas, participating in merit-making, offering food to monks, and enjoying traditional celebrations. The festivals also featured traditional market stalls selling local foods, handicrafts, textiles, and souvenirs, as well as cultural performances.
Devotees also enjoyed water activities and family relaxation by the rivers near the pagodas. The celebrations reflected both religious devotion and preservation of cultural traditions, with many young people actively taking part alongside elders.
