Friendship Bridge: Construction Of Myanmar-Korea Friendship (Dala) Bridge Inspected

Union Minister for Construction U Han Zaw inspected construction site of Myanmar-Korea Friendship (Dala) bridge in Lanmadaw Township, Yangon, Sunday.

Officials from the Bridge Management Department and GS Engineering & Construction Corporation clarified progress of works, arrangement for the temporary bridge and working platform for constructing bored pile, the approach road of Yangon and Dala sides, preparation for main bridge and reducing for environment impact.

The Union Minister stressed on construction of bored piles with the set standard and worksite safety. Later, the Union Minister also inspected preparations for bored pile digging in Yangon side and navigation marks for vessels for the safety of water way in Yangon River. 

The bridge is 1,867-m long with 4 lanes and it can withstand 75-ton of loads. It is a kind of reinforced concrete bored pile and cable stayed bridge. Upon completion of the project, the local people can easily access from Yangon to Dala, Twantay, Kawhmu, Kun Gyan Kone, Dedaye, Pyapone and Bogalay townships.
