French Minister for Education announces that an initiative to invest 20 million euros into developing AI systems for supporting school teachers will be announced this summer.

The aim of this is to ‘design open, transparent and sustainable AI that can help teachers prepare their lessons, correct homework and enrich their teaching practices’. “Starting in the 2025 academic year, the organization is launching its first online training course for secondary schools and colleges.

Based on a PIX course (digital training course), it will enable students to acquire the basics of prompting, understand the main types of AI learning, learn how AI works, and explore the issues involved, particularly concerning the limits and biases of AI, as well as data management and its environmental impact.

The course will be compulsory for students in Year 9 (13-14 years old) and Year 11 (15-16 years old), and will also be available to all secondary school and high school students who wish to participate”.
