Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on Friday pledged solidarity with the relatives of eight people killed in a mass shooting in British Columbia. He showed sorrowful desire for victims’ families on behalf of Canadian authorities.

Mark Carney, Canadian Prime Minister said "I know that nothing I can say will bring your children home. I know that no words from me or anyone can fill the silence in your homes tonight. But I, the leader of all the federal parties, wanted you to hear, not through a screen, but standing here together in your home. We wanted you to hear that Canadians are with you, and we will always be with you."

Carney met privately before the vigil with various community groups, including first-responders and health workers and said he came away understanding what has always defined this community: people caring for each other.
