




With the initiative of the Magway Region Government, a program to provide accessible healthcare services to retired civil servants included free medical treatment and a reduction in the cost of treatment for chronic diseases and health-related expenses, has been launched at the Myanmar Economic Bank in Magway Township.
On the morning of June 23, Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin, accompanied by senior military officials from the Magway military station, region ministers, and relevant departmental officials, visited Myanmar Economic Bank where the Services are being provided to show support. During the visit, free medical treatment was provided to retired civil servants, and essential food items such as 3 pyi of rice and 1 viss of cooking oil per person were sold at subsidized prices.
The Chief Minister and the responsible officials observed the provision of free medical treatment conducted by specialist doctors from the general hospital at the Myanmar Economic Bank. The Chief Minister also had cordial interactions with the retirees and expressed that the Magway Region Government will continue to collaborate with the relevant departments to systematically implement beneficial projects for the local population.
It was learned that this free medical care initiative, aimed at reducing healthcare costs and providing structured treatment for retired civil service personnel, is conducted monthly not only in Magway Township but also across all townships in the region during pension distribution days. Additionally, plans are being made to further support the provision of essential food supplies.
