French far-right leader Marine Le Pen said during an interview on French channel TF1 that she is still standing for president next year, after an appeals court confirmed her embezzlement conviction but paved the way for her to run with a shorter ban from office.

Le Pen also said she would appoint Bardella as prime minister if the RN can win the 2027 election. Bardella succeeded Le Pen as party president in 2022 and is widely regarded as her political heir. The 2027 election will be her fourth run at the French presidency.
