Food Safety Laboratory Center: MoST DM inspected the laboratories in the center

Deputy Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Aung Zeya, on May 19, visited the Food Safety Laboratory Center, which is being operated in collaboration under the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund Project (2022) at the Department of Research and Innovation, under the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The center provides laboratory testing services for raw materials and processed food products to ensure food safety, public health protection, and support the development of the MSME sector based on locally produced raw materials.

During the visit, the Deputy Minister inspected the operations in several laboratories. In the Nutritional Analysis Laboratory, he observed the use of advanced equipment such as protein analyzers, fat analyzers, and fiber analyzers for analytical services. In the Water Analysis Laboratory, he observed testing operations using Atomic Absorption Spectrometers. He also toured other laboratories to examine the ongoing laboratory testing services.

The Deputy Minister provided suggestions and gave necessary instructions during the inspection, it’s reported.
