Flood Prevention Measures : Dredging process to mitigate flood in Myitkyina

Prevention measures are being carried out to mitigate inundation from the surge of Ayeyawady River water level in Myitkyina. 

As part of the efforts, dredging process are underway along the downstream of Bala Min Htin Bridge. Due to the heavy rainfall in upper Ayeyawady River, the water level has increased about 11 ft in Myitkyina on April 24th, reslulting in the halt of dredging works. 

On April 25th, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan inspected the project site to oversee the situation. He coordinated the need for completion of dredging process as per targeted area.
