Fisheries Industry: Dy Minister makes inspections in Pantanaw, Twante

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Aung Gyi visited the Global Earth Agro and Aqua Industry public company limited in Pantanaw Township. There, the Deputy Minister heard report on matters including farming and ready-to-eat fish-based high-value food products manufacturing in one place.

In his response, the Deputy Minister called for cooperation with small fish farmers and efforts for high-value finished products manufacturing. It’s reported that this industry runs with more than 6,000 employees are directly employed – it also creates more than 50,000 related employment opportunities.

The Deputy Minister also looked around the operations of the company, construction of the BIOMASS POWER PLANT and fish reproduction with the new technology. Also, he visited the Fisheries Institute in Twante Township of Yangon Region and gave necessary instructions to upgrade the Fisheries Institute.

The Deputy Minister also inspected the creek renovation to prevent 800 acres of farmlands from floods and to irrigate 260 acres of summer paddy farms.
