First lady Melania Trump brought some holiday cheer to Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC. by reading a children's book and participating in a game of holiday bingo.

The annual visit was Mrs. Trump's fourth to the hospital, and she repeated a holiday tradition that was started by Bess Truman 70 years ago. Mrs. Trump read from the children's book series, "Oliver the Ornament," which fits in with her Be Best campaign by emphasizing kindness, especially in the face of bullying. She also played holiday bingo over a closed-circuit system with children receiving treatment at the hospital.

Last week, the first lady participated in the annual Marine Toys for Tots Drive hosted by the United States Marine Corps Reserve at Joint Base Anacostia – Bolling. It was her fourth year at that event as well.
