Fireworks light up skies over U.S. capital during July 4 concert celebrations

The skies over Washington, D.C., were aglow in red, white and blue fireworks on Thursday  as the nation's capital marked the Fourth of July holiday with a concert and fireworks display. Thousands of people gathered to watch the annual display and to enjoy the televised PBS "A Capitol Fourth" concert that celebrates America's Independence Day. The all-star concert line-up included the O'Jays, a tribute to Aretha Franklin and the National Symphony Orchestra.
