The 79th Anniversary of the Myanmar Fire Brigade Day was held at the State Hall in Loikaw, Kayah State in the morning on May 5. Before the ceremony officially began, the Chief Minister and attendees observed a one-minute silence to express condolences and remembrance for the lives lost and destruction caused by the powerful earthquake that occurred on March 28, 2025.

Following that, Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin delivered an opening speech, in which he highlighted that members of the Fire Brigade have continually served in public interest work across generations. He emphasized that firefighting is inherently a high-risk profession that demands skill and expertise, making continuous training essential. He also noted that the brigade must be systematically built with balanced Manpower, Equipment Power, and Technological Power.

Next, a commemorative video clip honoring the 79th anniversary was shown to the audience.

After that, the Chief Minister presented cash awards to the members of the State Fire Brigade. Additionally, the Commander of Regional Operations Command and the State Minister for Security and Border Affairs presented awards to officers and other fire service personnel who had excelled in discipline competitions.

Live demonstrations showcasing the skills of fire department personnel were then held at the State Fire Services Headquarters. The Chief Minister and other officials watched and supported these demonstrations, which included both male and female personnel, as well as reserve firefighters.

Then, the Chief Minister and officials visited the 79th Anniversary Fire Brigade Day Exhibition, where they viewed displays of water rescue and search-and-rescue equipment, as well as various firefighting tools and gear.
