Fire Brigade Day in Dawei: Taninthayi Region CM attended the ceremony

The 79th Anniversary Myanmar Fire Brigade Day Ceremony was held at the City Hall in Dawei, Tanintharyi Region on May 5th. The event began with the Region Chief Minister and invited guests standing in silent tribute for one minute to honor those who lost their lives in the recent earthquake. 

During the ceremony, Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko stated that today marks the 79th anniversary of the Myanmar Fire Brigade, an organization that has historically and continuously protected the lives, homes, and property of the people from fire hazards and various other dangers across generations. He emphasized that firefighters risk their own lives to rescue those in distress, and their sacrifices and bravery deserve deep respect and pride. He urged the need to further strengthen the brigade so it can continue safeguarding the lives and property of the people for many more years to come. 

Following this, the Region Chief Minister, Region High Court Chief Justice, region ministers, and officials watched a commemorative video honoring the Fire Brigade Day. They then presented awards, including outstanding service awards, excellence awards, model Fire Station awards and uniforms.

Additionally, they toured the exhibition inside the hall, which showcased Search and rescue equipment, Fire safety measures, Natural disaster prevention tools, Public welfare initiatives, Search and rescue operation displays.

The event concluded with officials expressing their support and appreciation for the Fire Brigade’s efforts.
