Fever Surveillance: Residents In North Okkalapa Township Conducted

The contact tracing on COVID-19 was conducted in North Okkalapa Township of Yangon East District on 29th May.

The health survey was conducted at 2 wards; wards (C) and (K) in the township where the COVID-19 confirmed cases were found.

Hluttaw Representative, North Okkalapa Township Constituency-2, Myint Lwin said “With the cooperation of the Yangon Region Government and the Region Health Department, the fever surveillance is conducted to the residents at Nilar street in Ward-C, North Okkalapa Townsip as a move to prevent transmission of COVID-19. Case 16 patient was found in this ward and we have conducted containment and preventive measures.”

The Hluttaw representatives, members of the COVID-19 Containment and Emergency Response Committee, the township health staffs, the ward administrators, NGOs, Fire brigade members, Red Cross Society and volunteer groups conducted the activity.

Head, Township Health Department, Dr. Ohnmar Sein said “We conduct fever surveillance to over 6,000 people of more than 1000 households. We do temperature screening on the vehicle installed the fever scanner. The health staffs screen body temperature to the squatters through door to door service. In conducting, we keep social distance for the people.”

The fever surveillance conducted to 6000 people in ward (C) and more than 5000 people in ward (K) in North Okkalapa township on the vehicles installed fever scanners, according to the Information and Public Health Department.
