The Mon State Farmland Management Committee Meeting No. (3/2025) was held at the Aung San Hall, Office of the State Government in the afternoon of June 10.
Chairing the meeting, Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Mon State Farmland Management Committee, emphasized the need to handle farmland issues in the state in accordance with existing laws, bylaws, and procedures. He stressed that for cases of unauthorized use of farmland for non-agricultural purposes, inspection and actions must be carried out in line with the prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), with district and township-level committees conducting systematic field inspections. He also underscored the importance of ensuring that farmland is not left fallow without valid reasons and urged committee members to discuss the submitted cases in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
Following this, the Secretary of the Committee explained the current status of implementation concerning the Farmland Law, bylaws, and procedures, as well as efforts being made to update and officially recognize road names, re-issuance of Form 7 documents due to loss (either as duplicate originals or certified copies), and the handling of non-agricultural use cases under Section 30(b) of the Farmland Law.
Committee members also presented updates on farmland management activities specific to their respective sectors. The Chief Minister concluded the meeting by coordinating necessary actions based on the discussions and delivering closing remarks.
