Farewell ceremony: MoH held a farewell ceremony to honor IMC (US)

Deputy Minister for Health Dr. Aye Tun, on behalf of the Chairman of Health Subcommittee under the National Disaster Management Committee, on May 19, held a farewell ceremony to honor the emergency medical team from the U.S.-based International Medical Corps (IMC), who are departing after completing their emergency healthcare missions, at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw.

At the beginning of the ceremony, attendees observed a minute of silence in mourning and remembrance of those who lost their lives in the Mandalay earthquake.

Following this, Deputy Minister Dr. Aye Tun delivered a farewell speech to express his appreciation.

Next, Mr. Syed Yasir Ahmed, the leader of the IMC team, expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Health, Nay Pyi Taw General Hospital (300-bed), and its medical superintendent and staff for their support and coordination that enabled the smooth and successful implementation of IMC’s medical services.

Subsequently, the Deputy Minister, on behalf of the Chairman of Health Subcommittee under the National Disaster Management Committee, presented a certificate of honor and commemorative gifts to the IMC team, it’s reported.
