Hailing the 76th Anniversary of Union Day 2023, the Yangon University of Education (YUE) organized extempore talks and debate on Thursday.

1st year to final year students of YUE participated in the competition.

Dr May Myat Thu, Pro-Rector, Training Affairs Division (YUE) said "Our university trains the students to be versatile in physical and mental strength. The extempore talks and debate aims to practice the usages and syntax of Myanmar language for the students. We also hold the bodybuilding and beauty pageant and conduct other activities like sports. By organizing such kind of activities, we want them to gain experience so that they can lead their schools and train their students well when they become leaders in the future. "

One of the students who participated in the event expressed his feeling.

Hein Min Yan, 1st year student (2nd semester), YUE said "I participated in the extempore talk with the topic, “If I were a Headmaster…” I am interested in the event and also value Myanmar language. I had a few times to prepare for the event but I did the best. I think…it’s very good to organize this kind of competitions to learn speaking our mother language well. "

In the extempore talks, the students participated with the topics, “The benefits of studying at the University of Education”, “If I were a Headmaster…” and “I were a rich man…” and in the debate, they competed with the topics, “It's good to stay in a dormitory or not”, “Media benefits the people or not” and “The teacher job is good or bad”.
