

Exam results for the basic education schools have been announced on Saturday.
Due to the spread of COVID-19, the exam results can be announced this day which annually announced in April.
Arrangements have also been made for protective measures for COVID-19 disease and ensuring the social distancing practice at the schools.
In North Okkalapa Township, over 40,000 students have sat for the basic education exams in the 2019-2020 academic year.
Student, No.(4) Basic Education Middle School, North Okkalapa, Zarni said "I passed Grade-9 exams, and I'm very happy. When the schools were reopened, we need to take preventive measures for COVID-19 such as hand washing and wearing masks. We also need to use hand sanitizer and also obey the disciplines of the school."
Plans are underway to reopen the classes for high school level on 21st July, the preparation measures are being carried out for meeting the instructions for COVID-19 prevention.
Principal of No.(4) Basic Education Middle School, North Okkalapa, Mi Mi Myint said "We have made arrangements for reopening of the school depending on the situation of the classrooms, numbers of teachers and students. We have over 1000 students, and we arranged to open the classes in every alternate week with two shifts. We made arrangements for 20 students in each classroom."
It is also learnt that the students will be provided with the reusable masks and face shield as well as textbooks and exercise books.
