Europe steps up efforts to contain COVID-19

European countries recently announced more powerful measures to contain the COVID-19 including further travel restrictions as the novel coronavirus is spreading fast in the region. The meeting stressed that the EU supports coronavirus-related research, information sharing, and developing vaccines in particular.

A day earlier, the German government announced escalation of pandemic prevention measures, including shutting down nonessential stores and entertainment facilities and suspending travels and most public activities. Also on Tuesday, the British government said at a press conference that it would invest 330 billion British pounds to ease the impact of COVID-19 on the British society.
