






Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Than Maung, accompanied by Shan Ethnic Affairs Minister Sai Aung Kyi and officials, on Saturday visited Mandalay Region Director Office of the Ministry to inspect the working process.
During the meeting with the staff, the Union Minister said to create job opportunities by conducting training courses for youths.
The Union Minister urged all the local ethnic people to participate in country’s peace efforts for the development of the nation. On the reports by the departmental officials, the Union Minister coordinated the needs and presented cash rewards to the staff.
In the afternoon, the Union Minister met with members of the Ethnic Literature and Culture Associations in the region to discuss the registration process of smooth implementation of works, more appointment of language teachers and teaching assistant in 2026-2027 Academic Year and preserving original style in innovating the ethnic costumes.
The Minister of Shan Ethnic Affairs reported on current and future working processes. Attendees made discussion on registration process, teaching ethnic dialects, cultural affairs, name correcting of ethnic people on NRC cards and land grant for holding traditional ceremonies. The Union Minister coordinated the needs and presented cash assistance to the associations.
