Environmental conservation: MoNREC UM inspected environmental conservation

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi, accompanied by concerned officials visited the InPyin Nursery Garden in Kalaw Township, Shan State (South) on Tuesday.

During the meeting with the staff at the briefing hall, the Union Minister instructed for the concerted efforts to make the Kalaw to be a Pine City and draft the action plan on greening of Inle wetland areas. They then inspected the reconstruction of inundation-affected nursery garden and the cultivation of over 61,000 saplings.

The Union Minister and party proceeded to the 260 acres of designated areas where trees will be cultivated in moonsoon season for the greening of hilly areas near PawToke village, AungPan Township. The Union Minister called the departmental officials for cooperation with the locals in forest conservation efforts and conduct awareness activities. They then oversaw the completion status of 5 acres of designated area where green plantation will be established and instructed the establishment procedures.

At the IngyinKone village Hotel Zone in NyaungShwe Township, they inspected the distribution of timber by Myanma Timber enterprise for the reconstruction of earthquake-affected residential houses and buildings in Inle Lake. During the inspection, they heard reports on timber arrival by types, completion of distribution and the rest amount and instructed the needs.
