Environmental conservation: Environmental conservation committee held a meeting

The 3rd coordination meeting of environmental conservation committee was held at the meeting hall of the deparment of enviromental conservation on Monday morning with the attendance by the chairman of enviromental conservation committee Union Minister for natural resources and enviromental conservation U Khin Maung Yi and committee members deputy ministers, Members of Nay Pyi Taw Council and permanent secretary in person and ministers of natural resources from Regions/ States via virtual system.

At the meeting, the chairman of enviromental conservation committee Union Minister said the need to pay special emphasis on clean environment and good ecosystem in addition to socio-economic development for the long-term sustainable development, the climate changes, losses of biodiversity, environmental pollution are threatening to the socio-economic development, efforts are needed to put for the implementation of goals as per the sectors included in the national level climate change mitigation and adaptation work plan according to the Paris Agreement,  the need to make efforts for world-wide reduction of air pollution  due to wild fires and fires for various reasons during summer, the ways to reduce plastic wastage in accordance with national action plan on plastic pollution and monthly press release on daily newspaper about the air quality measurement results.

He also said that not only as organization, but also with the cooperation of all relevant sectors and related parties, it will be able to be implemented successfully. Next, the deputy chairman and secretary of enviromental conservation committee explained about the enviromental conservation processes and the attendees presented the implementation status upon the decisions in 2nd meeting and the next processes to be carried out and made decisions based on the discussions.
