Environmental Conservation: 37th Meeting of ASEAN Senior Officials on Environment

The opening ceremony of the 37th Meeting of ASEAN Senior Officials on Environment was held in Nay Pyi Taw on August 11, attended by Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Hsan Oo.

At the event, the Union Minister stated that he hopes to work hand-in-hand with ASEAN member states and affiliated centers to address pressing environmental challenges, including climate change, plastic pollution, loss of biodiversity, and transboundary haze pollution.

He also expressed hopes for the stronger implementation of the post-2025 ASEAN Strategic Plan on Environment and encouraged active collaborative discussions for a sustainable and resilient future in the region. It is reported that the 37th Meeting of ASEAN Senior Officials on Environment and Related Meetings hosted virtually by Myanmar will continue till August 13.
