






Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin visited No.1 Oil refinery (Thanlyin) project site in Yangon Region on 5th June. There, the Union Minister met with the officials and heard reports on current construction process, equipment production, natural gas pipe line and river cross pipe line installation as well as the arrangements on natural gas distribution.
Then, the Union Minister inspected the pile foundation process, natural gas storage and distribution camp, desiganted routes to construct oil and natural gas pipe line and construction of Bago River cross section on South Dagon-Thanlyin Piple line and instructed on timely completion of the process, meeting set standards.
As the first phase of No.1 Oil Refinery (Thanlyin) project, a modular type plant, capable of processing 500,000 tons of crude oil per year, will be operational by the end of this year. And the second phase of the project, a new oil refinery with a capacity of 3 million tons of crude oil per year is scheduled to be completed by 2028.
